These draft terms describe the rules for using ChessFlame. They will be finalised after legal review.
Using ChessFlame
You can play some puzzles as a guest. Creating an account lets you keep your progress across devices. Please keep your sign-in details private and use ChessFlame for personal, non-commercial training.
Puzzle rating
Your puzzle rating measures performance on ChessFlame puzzles only. It is not a game rating and is not affiliated with any chess federation. Guest challenges, mini-games and some training modes are unrated.
Pro subscription
ChessFlame Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed through the App Store, Google Play or our web checkout. You can cancel any time in your store or account settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
Invites and bonus puzzles
Bonus puzzles from invites are granted when an invited friend creates an account and completes their first workout, up to the published limit. Bonus puzzles have no cash value. We may withhold or remove bonuses obtained through abuse (for example self-referrals or automated sign-ups).
Content
Many puzzles come from the Lichess puzzle database, released under CC0 (public domain). The ChessFlame name, logo, app and original content are ours.
Changes and contact
